Mick Dower's Clivia Collection

Hi all,

The late Mick Dower built up an exceptional Clivia collection of over 600 mature plants and seedlings. His collection is to be sold as a whole.

This is an opportunity open to Clivia enthusiasts everywhere to acquire one of the top Clivia collections in the world.

Habitat plants include: Appleblossoms Q2 (3 flowering-size suckers in one pot) and Q6; Oribi Gorge yellow; Entumeni Giant-flower miniata; 2 mature mirabilis, one with apricot flowers; yellow gardenii, and other selected examples of all the species.

The collection includes suckers off the originals of “Bronze Green Boy”, “Skychase”, “Kirstenbosch Supreme” and “Cameron Peach”. Other rare miniata include “de Villiers variegated peach”, “Cransley Peach”, “Floradale Apricot”, Toshio Koike’s green-flowered Hirao, several ID’ Flor “Florid White lips”, “Mopi Hirt” (6-petal and multipetal) and Nakamura’s best multipetal.

There are also many plants and seedlings from Mick’s own crossings between his most valuable miniata.

Mick also collected interspecifics like “Daydream”, “Golden Sunset” and “Autumn Splendour” and bred others, particularly crosses with mirabilis.
