Clivias are alive and well and living all over the world. Yet, despite their growing international popularity, many South Africans are still unaware that these magnificent flowers have their roots in Southern Africa. Indeed, some of you have perhaps marvelled at the beauty of Clivia cultivated in China, Japan, Australia and New Zealand without realising that they are only found in the habitat in the Eastern Cape, kwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, Swaziland and the Northern Cape.
